To ensure secure and uninterrupted access to university resources, your Duo Mobile app must be kept up to date. Please note the following requirements:

Minimum Version

• You must use Duo Mobile version 4.85.0 or later. Older versions use expired certificates and are no longer supported for authenticating logins.

Update Notifications

• If you are using an outdated version, you may see an "Update Recommended" or "Update Required" message during the authentication process.

Security Best Practice

• We strongly recommend enabling automatic updates for Duo Mobile in your device’s app store. This ensures you always have the latest security patches and features without manual intervention.

This panel contains steps for determining which version of your phone's operating system is currently running.

Duo Mobile 4.85.0 requires an operating system of:

• iOS 16.0 or later
• Android 11.0 or later

2. Tap General.
3. Tap About.
4. Look for the field labeled iOS Version or Version.

2. Scroll down and tap About phone (or About device or About tablet).
3. Look for the field labeled Android version or Software information.

If your device is running an unsupported operating system (older than iOS 16.0 or Android 11.0), you may need to update your OS before you can update the Duo Mobile app to version 4.85.0 or later.

1. Open the Duo Mobile app on your device.
2. Tap on the menu (3 horizontal lines on the upper left of the screen).
3. The version number is located at the bottom of the menu popout. The most recent versions are 4.100.0 or higher.

Versions of Duo Mobile older than the minimum specified in this article (4.85.0) may fail to function properly and expose your account to security risks. 

• You may experience intermittent or complete failure to receive Duo Push notifications.
• You may see error messages such as: "Session timeout," "Login expired," or "Contact your IT help desk."
• Older versions also lack critical security patches, leaving accounts more vulnerable to exploitation.
