This article shares information about using the UA Virtual Private Network (VPN) on an Android device.

VPN provides a secure connection from your home computer, laptop, or mobile device to the UA's network. It is also a valuable security tool when you are on an unsecured wireless network (e.g., coffee shops, airports).

UA's VPN client is the Cisco Secure Client.

Download and Install

1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
2. Search for Cisco Secure Client.
3. Tap the Install button. The application will now download and auto-install.
   
    
4. After installation is complete, return to the home screen and open the Cisco Secure Client app.
5. When you first launch the app, you will be presented with an End User License agreement (EULA). 
6. You must Accept the agreement to continue.

Configure Settings

1. After you open Cisco Secure Client, select Connections.
2. Tap the plus icon toward the lower right to add a new VPN connection.
3. Configure your settings to match what is below and then select Done.
   1. Description: UA VPN
   2. Server Address: vpn.arizona.edu
        
4. The configuration settings will now be saved in the application for future use.

Connect to VPN

1. While on the main screen of the Cisco Secure Client app, tap the toggle button to open the WebAuth login screen.
   
    
2. Once the WebAuth login window opens up:
   
   1.  Enter your NetID
   2.  Enter your Password 
   3. Upon clicking Login, the Duo Universal Prompt will use your default NetID+ log in option. The default option is the option that you last used with NetID+. Most users choose the Push option so this will be the most common default option.
      
        
3. Approving the request on your phone is all it takes to utilize the Push feature when signing in.
   1. If you wish to use a different NetID+ log in, select Other options.
      
        
4. Tap Connect.
