Visio is a web-based tool that allows you to create, edit, view, and collaborate on diagrams and flowcharts directly within your web browser.
About the Software
Microsoft Visio for the Web offers basic diagramming capabilities, ideal for simpler diagrams and quick visualizations.
Please note that Visio for the Web is a limited version and may not support all features available in the desktop version of Microsoft Visio.

Licensing Terms & Conditions
Conditions/Eligibility
- Eligible Users: All active staff, students, and DCCs are eligible for licenses.
- Ineligible Users: Retirees and former faculty/staff/students are not eligible for this product.
Limitations
The full-featured version of Microsoft Visio is not included in the standard Microsoft 365 license and requires a separate request.
Due to the limited availability and associated costs, we encourage users to utilize Visio for the Web whenever possible. If you believe you require the full version, please submit a request for Visio Plan 2 through the Microsoft Product License Request form.
You must be logged into ServiceNow and include a KFS account number for tracking purposes when submitting a request.
Note that the cost will be covered by UITS (University Information Technology Services) and not charged to individual departments.
- Requests will be reviewed and approved based on necessity.
- Trial licenses are not available.
Accessing The Software
Follow the steps below to access Visio for the Web:
- Sign in at portal.office.com with your @arizona.edu account and NetID password.
- Choose the Apps tab found on the left side of the screen.
- Select Visio icon from the list.
- If you don’t see Visio, click All apps and choose it from the list.

Compatibility Issues
You may encounter compatibility issues with older Visio files, as not all diagrams are compatible with Visio for the Web. Please refer to Microsoft’s Limitations to file editing in Visio for web support page for details.
