Connecting to Wireless (all networks)


This article provides instructions for connecting to the three UA wireless networks available to UA students, faculty, and staff.

UAWiFi

UA WiFi is the main wireless network. It is secure and available to all students, faculty, and staff with an active NetID.

Connect to UAWiFi

  1. Choose UAWiFi from your device's wireless options
  2. Enter your UA NetID for the Username
  3. Enter your UA NetID password for the Password
  4. Click Join

UAGuest

UAGuest is a wireless network available to visitors of the University of Arizona. UAGuest is an unsecured network. Do not send private information such as credit card numbers over this network. UA students, faculty, and staff should use UAWiFi.

Create a UAGuest Account

  1. Select the UAGuest network on your device.
  2. Open a web browser if one does not automatically open for you. The Welcome UAGuest webpage appears.
  3. Click on Create Account at the bottom of the webpage.
  4. Enter your name and cell phone number (enter hyphens, e.g., XXX-XXX-XXXX).
    You will receive a text message containing your assigned username and password.
  5. Enter your username and password on the Welcome UAGuest webpage.
  6. Read the Acceptable Use Policy.
  7. Click Accept.
    The account will remain valid for five days. After that time, you need to establish a new account.

Eduroam

Eduroam is a secure, global roaming service developed for the international research and education community, offering the same speed and security as UAWiFi. It provides university students, researchers, and staff with fast, secure internet access at participating institutions.

Visitors from participating institutions are encouraged to use Eduroam while on campus. 

Using a secure wireless network is recommended for any time you access a site where you use a password and/or submit credit card or other personal or financial information.

Connect to Eduroam

  1. Choose eduroam from the list of available wireless networks on your computer or device.
  2. Enter your credentials.
    1. If you are visiting a participating institution and have a UA NetID, enter your UA email address (netid@arizona.edu) as the Username and your NetID password as the Password.
    2. If you are from another participating institution, enter the credentials provided by your home institution.
  3. Click Join.
