University of Arizona App – User Guide


This article explains how to get started with the University of Arizona App, a centralized tool designed to connect you with essential campus services and information.

Overview

The official University of Arizona app is your mobile guide to campus life. While anyone can use it to navigate campus, signing in with your UA NetID and password unlocks personalized features. For students, this provides mobile access to your class schedule and meal plan balances.

To help you follow along in the app, the sections below are organized to match the order of the main navigation tabs at the bottom of the app interface: Explore, Schedule, Transit, and Account.

Explore

The Explore tab is your starting point for discovering campus resources and finding your way around.

Without Signing In
You have access to general campus resources, including:

  1. Food: A list of campus restaurants, cafes, and markets, with their hours and menus.
  2. Links: Essential campus resources such as SafeCats, SafeRide, and UA News.
  3. Safety: Contact information for the UA Police Department (UAPD), CAPS 24/7, and other safety services.
  4. Phonebook: Contact information for central departments like Admissions and Financial Aid.

With a NetID Login
Signing in with your NetID unlocks personalized information, including your:

  1. Digital CatCard (with CatCash balances)
  2. Upcoming Appointments
  3. Library Reservations
  4. Campus Events

Using the Campus Map
The interactive map is a powerful tool for navigating campus.

  1. Tap the search icon to find any campus building by name. If you're logged in, you can also search for a class (e.g., "CHEM 151") to find its location.
  2. Pinch to zoom and swipe to pan around the map, just as you would with other map apps.
  3. Tap on any building to open an info sheet and get to:
    1. Get walking directions.
    2. View the building's emergency plan.
    3. See real-time events happening in the building.
  4. Tap the layers icon on the right to show or hide specific locations like dining halls, libraries, computer labs, or parking garages.
  5. Tap the compass icon to center the map on your current location.
Schedule

When you're logged in, the Schedule tab displays your personalized calendar.

It shows the campus location for all of your:

  • Classes
  • Appointments
  • Registered Events

Note: If you aren't logged in, the app will prompt you to do so to view this information.

Transit

Use the Transit tab to track the Cat Tran shuttle system in real-time.

You can select a route to see its path on the map and tap any stop to view the next shuttle's estimated arrival time.

Account

The Account tab gives you access to your:

  • Digital CatCard to pay for services, use your meal plan, and enter buildings.
  • Unique event check-in QR code.
  • App settings.
